9.00pm: Annual Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award.
In association with the Patrick Kavanagh Society.
Introduction by poet and adjudicator, Brian Lynch.

9.30pm: Performance of a variety of traditional pieces on flute and harp. The rich sound of harp and flute combined, will touch the heart and soul of all present in a venue which is second to none for atmosphere and natural acoustics.

9.15am: Conducted walking tour of Patrick Kavanagh Literary Trail in Carrickmacross with Larry McDermott. Assembly: The Valley Lodge – opposite St. Joseph’s Church.

11.00am: Poetry Readings by the winners of the 2016 Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award.

11.45pm: Canon Bernard Maguire alias ‘Salamanca Barney,’ PP of Inniskeen 1915-1948.
